Carbon furniture is designed to expose and explore the beauty of the 'found' object, the accidental beauty of the reclaimed timber, the imperfection and historical traces that give the raw material character.
We love the transformation of salvaged timber into something other, floors become frames, doors become tables, and so on.
The waste product is usually nothing more than a bundle of kindling!
The owners of this wonderful Regency flat overlooking the common at Mount Ephraim in Tunbridge Wells have been Carbon customers for some time.

They commissioned us to make a gate-leg table from an antique Swedish design as a centrepiece for their dining room. Mirrors from the Classic Carbon range were chosen to add light and enhance the ancient painted look. The use of Farrow & Ball Lime White Estate Emulsion throughout the room creates an ambient glow.
Other examples of Carbon pieces were carefully chosen for this flat, examples from the Boardwalk, Fire Island, Patina and Classic Carbon range can be seen in situ.

This house is an 1840s coach house with panoramic views of sea, sky and fields.

A 1960s modernisation of the living area led to glossed hardboard enclosed doors, polystyrene tiles cladding the ceiling, nylon fitted carpets and faux marble fireplace. After stripping floors and dipping the doors the place started to breathe again. Carbon made furniture and original old wooden settles and a new reclaimed fireplace surround added back the warmth and character that was much needed.
