Welcome to the refreshed Carbon web site. First of all we would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have commissioned furniture and frames from us. It is always exciting to embark on new bespoke projects and we have now added many of them to the new archive section.

This year has seen the substantial re-development of the fishing boat harbor at Rye, which has resulted in us having access to some wonderful old red cedar which we have used to make some very well received furniture. The renewal of the sea-defences at Winchelsea seems to be complete now and the fabulous worn posts have nearly all gone to good homes.

A new project for us has been the Penshurst home. For this beautifully restored house we were asked to create individually tailored furniture to suit both the needs of the family and their desire for characterful timber that resonates with memories of childhood holidays in Winchelsea. . A very enjoyable project that has resulted in some lovely pieces .

The Tunbridge Wells Project has also gone from strength to strength, We have been commissioned to make some new and exciting additions to this lovely home inc. a day bed, an ottoman, a console table, a huge corner wardrobe and a large oak coffee table.

We are very pleased to be taking part in the Country Living Fair in Islington November 14-18th. We are making furniture for the Made in Hastings stand. (Winners of the Country Living Best Growing Business Award 2007) Hope to see some of you there.

Carbon will also be showing new furniture at Henry Paddon Contemporary Art in Eastbourne from 27th October.

In the homes section of the November issue of Coast magazine there will be a feature on Denise Franklin Lancaster which will include photographs of the Carbon working and living environment; the studio, the workshop, as well as the beautiful coast (where so much of our timber comes from).

We do hope that you enjoy looking at the newly refreshed archive section - we have included selected pieces that we have recently made as well as old favourites. We hope to give inspiration to those of you who have an idea for an interesting piece of furniture for your own home.
